Things are going my way

I play in the dark but I’m no where near in the dark.

After life’s most recent events, I’m so happy that I have all kinds of good news to share.

As you may recall, I gave a shout-out to the beautiful Bianca last week because my current roommate is moving out, and I had my fingers crossed that she might move in.

After she stopped by to check the place out, fell in love with my cozy home, and we discovered that we share the same taste in trendy interior design, Bianca will become my new roommate in June!

That’s such an absolute relief because I was really dreading the idea of having to place an ad in the newspaper, and possibly end up with some ax murdering, Single White Female kinda gal.

Dear Bianca, all I know is that we’re going to have so much fun this summer and thereafter.

On the flip side, I was under a tremendous amount of stress last week because I had my second statistics test, and next to no time to study for it. Even though I studied until midnight and then got up at 5 a.m. for more the day of, I really thought I only got a D (this statistics stuff is so very difficult). When we got the graded test back in class, I firmly closed my eyes, and when I opened just one, I saw that I earned a solid B. You have no idea how close I was to getting up and dancing.

I was also able to send out all of my application materials to The Evergreen State College (this statistics class is a prerequisite to get in) and I hope to get admitted to their Master of Public Administration program starting this fall. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, dear readers.

Even better, I learned that because of my above-ground job and volunteer activities, I’m one of the nominees for the Business Examiner’s 40 Under 40 program. I filled out their questionnaire, and now I just have to wait to hear back on whether I’ve landed a spot. So cool.

Last, but most certainly not least, my softball team scored our first victory of the season, which felt very good last Friday after such a busy week.

After I enjoyed a most excellent shower, Dallas showed up at my door Friday and we caught a late dinner at Asado. Introducing people to Asado is one of my favorite things, and Dallas was most certainly impressed. Just when we thought we were done, Awesome Andi snuck us the purse dessert, which tickled our fancy, until we learned that Dallas is dangerously allergic to hazelnuts (an ingredient in the purse). Luckily, we didn’t kill the cute boy, and now he’s even more excited to go back and eat the whole thing.

Our night ended at the Top of Tacoma, and when you add that to last week’s successful adventures, my smile couldn’t have gotten any bigger.
