The City of Lakewood's SummerFEST 2024 is the South Sound's not-to-be-missed summer celebration with something fun for everyone.

This year's event is Saturday, July 20 at Fort Steilacoom Park. It's free and draws tens of thousands of people from across the region.

SummerFEST has it all: food trucks, beer gardens, live music all day, fire dancers, a pop-up skate park, a car show, market vendors, a balloon glow and drone show at dusk, circus acts and interactive sports and arts for all ages.

Bricks 4 KidzSummerFEST LEGO building contest                                                        

Does your child like to build with LEGO bricks? Students compete against other builders in their age group. All participants receive a $25 gift certificate to be used on Bricks 4 Kidz programming. First place winners in each age category receive large LEGO building sets. Cost to register is $10. Find the rules and register online.

Volleyball Tournament                                                                                                                 

Join the Reverse coed grass 4's Madman Volleyball Tournament. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. Play will start as close to 9 a.m. as possible and runs to 6:30 p.m. Play includes reverse coed 4's A and BB teams playing in a pool format followed by elimination rounds in multiple brackets. Cost is $120/team. There are prizes for top finishers in all brackets. Find the rules and register online.

If you're coming in from out of town, reserve a hotel room in advance. Even if you're a local, it's a good idea to head to Fort Steilacoom Park early to nab the best free parking!
