IN A MEXICAN KITCHEN

Soitza Devlin leads In a Mexican Kitchen culinary course at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Bayview School of Cooking (516 W. Fourth Ave., Olympia). Devlin will lead students through dishes that remind her of home, such as Chilitos Rellenos de Atun en Escabeche, chile rellenos stuffed with fresh tuna and Colache de Puerco starring baby back ribs with zucchini, corn, onions and other goodness. For dessert, you'll learn how to concoct a caramel flan. Complimentary beer is served for those 21 and older during instruction. Class is $45. Reserve your spot at 360.754.1448.

TACOMA BREWING BIRTHDAY

From 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov 9 Tacoma Brewing Co. (625 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) celebrates its one-year anniversary. Brewmaster Morgan Alexander will invite guest to celebrate with live music, vendors and, of course, beer. It's been a wild ride through expansion of one endeavor and the closing of another (Amocat Café) but one year of fabulous craft brew concoctions is reason to party. Treats will include beer cupcakes make with its own Bourbon Stout. Mmmm, what a fine matrimony.

BFF Ninkasi Brewing Company will hang out at the Tides Tavern (2925 Harborview Dr., Gig Harbor) during the waterfront tavern's Iron Man Brew Night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12. For every Ninkasi ale purchased, Josh the "Iron Man" will iron Ninkasi seal to anything you desire: shirts, bags, mouse pad, Double Live Gonzo album, Truck-stop chewing tobacco lid, Taylor Swift's B-side "I Have Never Ever Done Anything Wrong in a Relationship" and more.
