THANKSGIVING ADVICE

The Red Coats are coming! Culinary artists of the Metropolitan Market (2420 N. Proctor St., Tacoma) will don red chefs coats and be available Nov. 20-22 to answer food prep questions for your Thanksgiving feast, help find that special ingredient you're looking for and suggest recipes for your holiday diners. Impress your loved ones with some borrowed culinary knowledge and unique quality ingredients.

WHEN BIRTHDAYS PAY OFF

You can anticipate a good time whenever an industry person is celebrating a birthday, ask anyone! Wednesday, Nov. 21 It's Amore! (2715 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) has not one but TWO of its team celebrating a day of birth offering cake and bubbly as an open invitation to those who dine and celebrate with them. Pop in and treat yourself to Italian fare and wish bartender/server Justin and owner/cook Linda happy ones.

THE THRILL OF CHRISTMAS

You can get in the Christmas spirit with divine cuisine paired with live talent in Chris Anderson at the Pacific Grill Events Center (1502 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) Nov. 24. The Pacific Grill will be featuring a three-course dinner to pair with the talented crooner Anderson and your happy feet. Perfect recoup from Black Friday festivities or a lovely date night. Tickets are $70 with festivities running from 5:30-9 p.m. Check the Pacific Grill website for ticket information.

GOURMET BONUS

It's time to start scooping up stocking stuffers for the foodies in your family. Rather than hit up some stale fruitcake or get back to your neglected canning hobby, a good start is Stanley and Seafort's restaurant (115 E. 34th St., Tacoma). The Tacoma fine-dining restaurant offers 20 percent savings on gift card purchases. The deal is available from now until Jan. 1.

BEEP FOOD DRIVE BEEP

Video Games? Check. Good Grub? Check. Brewskies? Check. Good Deeds? You bet! Dorky's Bar Arcade (754 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) is holding a food drive Nov. 23 to the weekend before Christmas. All nonperishable food or new unwrapped toys will be donated to a local halfway house for those in need. Give the gift of food (and joy of toys) while getting in some quality pinball time.
