A smiling Chef William Mueller oversees the bistro room across a half wall separating the open-air kitchen from a seven-table space. Having breakfast and lunch in the small, comfortable room is like costarring on a cooking show; the intimate proximity of the kitchen is that great. 

Intelligent portion control is key at Babblin' Babs. Average Americans eat twice the needed amount at every meal. Chef Mueller addresses this in his preparation. Everything offered demands that attention be paid to the nontraditional ingredients. Nothing Chef Mueller does or creates is by chance.

Organic Ethiopian or Indonesian coffees and pleasing varieties of non-alcoholic bottled drinks from across the globe or bottled here in the United States are offered. Sweet, carbonated Brainalizer has subtle citrus notes, but no additives, colors or fake flavors.

From Southwestern corn chowder consisting purely of corn kernels and thin broth spiked with tangy lime and earthy cilantro to French ham and cheese sandwiches on apple pecan rye bread, nothing is simple or plain.
