NOW OPEN

Kimberly's Café has opened for breakfast and lunch in the former Lakewood spot Vive Bene - and all the way back to Mime's Kitchen - once occupied at 1126 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW. Open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the restaurant serves traditional breakfast dishes, flat bread pizza, Connecticut grinders, paninis, sandwiches and a few entrees such as spaghetti, cod fish and chips and angel hair pasta. Everything is priced at $10 or less.

NOW WITH BEER

The Wine Bank (7017 27th St. W, University Place) is now called the Wine Bank & Beer Vault because the wine store has added bottled craft beer to its inventory.

MERLOT WITH BOE

Amocat Café (625 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) will host a campaign reception for Tacoma City Councilman David Boe featuring Merlot form three local wineries from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 28. The cost is $5 for the wine.

BREAKFAST EVENT

Farrelli's Wood Fire Pizza in Tacoma (3518 Sixth Ave.) hosts a charity breakfast and silent auction from 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30 to benefit the Children's Fund of Greater Tacoma Community Fund. The cost is $12.50. Reservations are recommended at 253.759.1999.

FARM TO FORK

Peace of the Earth Farm (8111 86th Ave. NW, Rosedale) hosts a four-course late summer harvest dinner paired with wine served in the farm's field at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31. The cost is $138 per person. Reserve your spot at 253.858.6626.

COOKING CLASS

The Gig Harbor Wine and Food Festival will host 30 regional wineries and breweries, as well as Bravo's Top Chef contestant Chef Kevin Gillespie of the Woodfire Grill in Atlanta, Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Harbor History Museum.
