You wake up. Your knees ache, your back pops - maybe you feel like a totally different person. That's essentially what has happened to the J.C. Todd home - a "free classic" Victorian style home built in 1901 by general contractor Edward C. Hill for newlyweds J.C. and Gladys Todd. The Wedge Historic District home has gone through a number of transitions and was split into three apartments when purchased by the current owners in 2004, a process that continues today. Want to see it? Want to chat with the general contractor, plumber and the watchful Landmarks Preservation Commission? Of course you do. In honor of National Historic Preservation Month, the folks at Historic Tacoma will host a tour of the Todd home Saturday afternoon. In addition to the folks with bonds, you'll be able to talk with the Tacoma homeowners who are doing much of the work, and learn about how to research the history of your home.

HISTORIC HOME TOUR, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., J.C. Todd home, 502 S. Sheridan, Tacoma, $5, info@historictacoma.org
