David Deacon-Joyner, in addition to having a badass name, is the director of Jazz Studies at Pacific Lutheran University. And, on top of that, he's one hell of a pianist.

Tuesday Deacon-Joyner will be joined by Olympia jazz trumpeter Syd Potter for an evening of old-school tunes.

Like, seriously old-school.

According to hype the "intimate concert will feature classic jazz compositions and pay tribute to famous jazz trumpet recordings from the 1920s to the present."
