If the North End's Proctor District is synonymous with one thing other than Land Rovers with leather seats, jacked up real estate prices and white people, it's probably art. I mean, seriously, we've all seen that fancy-ass intersection art at Proctor and North 26th. Are they doing that kind of shit on Hilltop? Not a chance. Conveniently, this Saturday marks the Proctor Arts Fest, which will fill said intersection at North 26th and Proctor with "fabulous music, a juried art show, handmade arts & crafts, a sidewalk sale, (and) a food drive and the bite of Proctor," according to promotions.

PREDICTION: The Proctor Arts Fest won't really be a party unless the crossing guard from Washington-Hoyt Elementary shows up in full regalia. Lots of white people with Land Rovers know what we're talking about, as does anyone who's every driven past Washington-Hoyt on a school morning. We know she's probably on summer vacation, but c'mon! The crazy, costumed crossing guard lady from Washington-Hoyt is awesome!
