I am both the best and worst person to be writing this column. I am married, therefore not looking to hit on and/or pick up anyone in any type of situation ... yet I absolutely love to check out what's grillin' inside today's meat markets. Besides - I have a few single friends. Just a few. Just enough to give me some sort of excuse for scoping out the singles scene without coming off as a complete and total perv. 

Oh, you say it's too late, and that I'm already too much of a perv? Meh, you're probably right. 

Nonetheless, last weekend Liesl Diesel, The KAke and I hauled ass down Interstate 5 to the thriving metropolis of Olympia for a big Saturday night out with our handsome escort, Daniel Furry Friend.

Daniel Furry Friend enjoys romantic times with companions of the male persuasion, so it was only obvious that he would be the perfect escort for an evening of drag shows at Jake's and a nightcap at Olympia's Urban Onion. He's also a damn fine individual, inside and out, so that's a bonus.

After an explosive evening of some exceptional drag show entertainment at Jake's on 4th, the Urban Onion seemed a bit relaxed. At approximately midnight on Saturday night, occupied tables were sparse, karaoke was in full swing, and the drinks were being made with a very heavy hand. 

The music was just loud enough to be enjoyed, yet low enough to hold a conversation with any of the nicest of Urban Onion bar patrons. And trust me, everyone there is nice. Smiles all around.

Whether you're a man interested in men, woman interested in women, or perv like myself just looking to drool - Urban Onion gives you a chill environment to sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

During the day, Urban Onion is a family-friendly restaurant. Come 5 p.m. happy hour begins and the fun takes over (with the happy hour continuing until 9 p.m.). There's karaoke with Ace every Thursday and Saturday night (no cover), and a different DJ every Friday. Tuesdays feature local musicians, and Sundays have traditional pub dart tournaments.
