New labels and fashion designers are always emerging around L.A. and New York, but the hottest line on the catwalk of Tacoma is Polychromatic Revolution. Created by ambitious 19-year-old Alex Schelhammer and his business partner, Jesse Kammer. The name Polychromatic is an art term used to describe light that exhibits more than one color, and Revolution — a fundamental change in structure, combined to mean a revolution of many colors.

The dynamic duo aims to inspire peace and break down barriers between cultures and people by representing positivity, community and liberation through their line. Hoping that anyone who agrees with these values will sport their label.

Schelhammer was spotted at Tully’s in his own T-shirt that retails for $20 and is sold through his account on MySpace.com. His jeans are Volcom from the Nordstrom Rack, and sunglasses from Wet Seal. His shoes showcase Tacoma’s beautiful scenery, in an intricate work of art custom made by his partner and also sold on MySpace. Schelhammer began screen printing tees at 15 and currently works for T-Town Apparel in downtown Tacoma. He continued onto Pierce College and despite failing his fashion class has a new winter line in the works.

Schelhammer refuses to be held back by negativity or stereotypes, constantly striving to think outside the box to inspire all to follow their dreams and passions.
