Jessie Fouts and Shane Lance

Looking good at the department of licensing

There are few places more miserable than the DMV, but the department of licensing may be one of them. Waiting in a line full of unhappy people, only to have a power hungry mutant call your number and try at all costs to give you a double chin in your new license picture. This would be the last place you would expect to see fashion, yet there, among the crowds of frowns were two fabulous dressers — Jessie Fouts and Shane Lance.

Fouts, the Mandolin Café’s best barista, sported a green knit scarf from Spain while talking about her work’s upcoming event with local artist Vikki Martinez and free wine tasting on Feb. 6th. She wore earrings stolen from her roommate and hair stylist Stephanie Foster, who works at Willow Salon on North 21st. Fouts looked cozy in a thermal from Value Village and layered sweater from Target. An embossed leather belt from Pac Sun and gray suede boots from Shoe Pavilion dressed up her H&M jeans and completed her look. Lance, an engineer/producer at Pacific Studios showed off skin tight jeans from PacSun, shoes from Seattle’s Goodwill, which he claims is “the best Goodwill around here,” a scarf from Urban Exchange and coat from the Women’s section of American Eagle. Lance and Fouts could spice up any dull atmosphere with their trendy winter threads.
