For most of us, coming into our own through fashion happens later in life. Thumbing through old photographs, cringing at our stirrup leggings with Keds, glitter eye shadows, pale pink lipsticks, mini skirts with cropped tops, and bushy hair and braces. Wondering “What was I thinking? How is it possible that we ever felt cool in these fashion faux paux?” For others, style seems second nature even in the awkward middle school stage of life. Thirteen-year-old Veronica Biblarz was spotted visiting Tacoma from Los Angeles, looking confident and cute outside the Proctor Metropolitan Market. She blossomed even more radiantly then the flowers behind her with her style. Biblarz knows how to have fun with her look, in a funky button-up skirt from Urban Outfitters (one of her favorite stores) layered over tights from Nordstrom. Her sweater, also from Urban Outfitters, and brown boots that hit mid-calf show that she knows trends. She tops off her whole outfit with a patent red clutch from Nordstrom, Dylon Roger’s bracelet from Cake and Necklace from Forever 21. Biblarz enjoys shopping in Tacoma’s eclectic boutiques and combines the Northwest’s laid-back vibe with hot L.A. flare. This is one girl who won’t have to hide her middle school pictures, she can look back on them proudly and say, “I know what I was thinking.”
