This isn’t your grandma’s craft fair (sorry Nana). It’s a community-based craft fair that showcases area artists, spotlights the necessity of recycling and reusing in arts, sustainability and quality creations.

An impressive array of crafters, vendors and artists will display their talents in buyable form. Here’s a sampler of the artistic sensations you can expect: jewelry by Miranda Pollitz; and stunning letterpress works by K.C. Potter, Maggie Roberts and Lisa Hasegawa; Barbara De Pirro’s eco-art; humor and insight via pop culture apparel by Ryan Loiselle; Pat Askren’s stylish, new re-purposed home goods by Holly Weiman; small paintings and illustrations; singular limited edition painted canvas and paper covered compact discs — remixes by Mindy Barker; Jada-Moon Gridley will be doing henna and selling custom designed men’s and women’s T-shirts; Laurie Cinotto’s collection of handcrafted fanciful corsages, boutonnieres and bouquets; and Itty Bitty Kitty Committee cards will also be sold.

Event organizer Jennifer Adams hopes to add more artists and crafters before the event Sunday.

An eclectic list of auction and raffle item donors has been assembled with more to come — Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, Broadway Center, King’s Books, Source Yoga, art by Oliver Doriss, Sean Alexander, Conor McClellan, LuLu’s on Broadway, an annual membership at Tacoma Art Place and more. Raffle tickets are an easy $1.

Adams is also fund-raising for a community member in need. Money raised from this event’s silent auction and raffle will go to Colleen Malone to help with staggering medical bills as Malone fights thyroid cancer.
