The 40s can be a tough transition for many women, especially in fashion. It’s the age where mini skirts are no longer appropriate no matter how rockin’ your body is, and too soon for ultra-conservative sweaters and button-up blouses. Many women lose their style during this time of life, attempting to find a balance between not dressing like their mothers or teenage daughters. The solution to reclaiming your style is in a little boutique in Proctor called Julia Ellen.

With brands like Brighton, Westin, Jag Jeans and Jakes T-shirts, it encompasses styles for any look you’re trying to achieve.

Gale Ford, employee for Julia Ellen, is in a funky colored T-shirt done by Cubism and khaki pants by Jag, both carried at the boutique. She has worked for the last three of the 19 years the store has been open. On her feet are a pair of Eric Michael shoes, and around her waist a brown Brighton belt, sold at Julia Ellen. To pull her whole outfit together she wears dangly Folk Art International earrings done by Patty Nulph — a local jeweler, and a metallic Brighton bag slung across her shoulders. Come to Julia Ellen for a satisfying experience with great customer service and lots of individual attention, and walk out feeling excited and fabulous about reclaiming your look.
