Open for just a few months, Indo Asian Street Eatery already has a pretty steady following within the Stadium District community.  One look as you walk in, or even a glance at the simple and straight forward menu will tell you nearly everything you need to know.  The next thing you'll want to see is yourself at a table.

Much like the food truck communities that are becoming more and more popular, street food in Asian countries are a culinary culture within a culture.  Having eaten street food across Asia I have tried some of the strangest food imaginable and also thoroughly enjoyed some amazingly and unexpectedly street food.  Indo's focus is on a casual eating and drinking street-style food experience without having to travel to Asia.

Indo offers flavors from all over southeast Asia, including Thailand, China, Japan and Vietnam, so don't expect to see an all-inclusive offering.  The snack selection alone offers Korean hot wings, Chinese egg rolls and Thai-style sausage.  Even the three Vietnamese sandwiches (Banh Mi) have Vietnamese pork, Korean beef or Thai curry chicken as options.  In other words, Indo has created an Asian fusion by blending a variety of spices, flavors and textures from all over southeast Asia.

Indo's originality is equally evident on the drink menu as well, offering several sake choices, Japanese whiskeys, as well as many Asian beer selections.  I, however, am always a sucker for the specialty drinks and had to try the blood moon seasonal offering which combined tequila and blood orange soda with lime and cilantro.  Hey Indo - keep this one on the year-round menu.

It was difficult for me to choose between the noodle bowls or rice bowls because each one is a solid collection of multiple flavors and textures ... basically a full meal in a bowl.  I finally settled on the Vietnamese vermicelli noodle bowl.  Served in a large bowl and filled to the top with vermicelli noodles, fresh cabbage and green onions, perfectly seasoned pork, crispy fried spring rolls, and topped off with a ginger sesame dressing. Perfection.

Indo Asian Street Eatery has successfully embraced the street food culture with an eclectic selection of Asian fused cuisine from all over the region.  Add in a great community atmosphere, a helpful and knowledgeable staff and an easy location near Stadium High School, and you have all the makings for a successful restaurant.
