SEATTLE BEER WEEK HUG

Pint Defiance 2049 Mildred Street, Fircrest) challenges lovers of local craft beer with their Seattle Beer Week Marathon. From May 8-18, the PD crew will be featuring a line-up of 26 excellent Washington state brews. Visit throughout the week to fill a pint or growler with these featured concoctions of the hops and receive a poke on a punch card. Race through all 26 and you receive a rad shirt and bragging rights.  

LAKEWOLD GARDENS

Lakewold Gardens (12317 Gravelly Lake Drive Southwest, Lakewood) presents a unique Mother's Day celebration with a matrimony of art and French pastries. Lakewold sets the ambiance at the Wagner House highlighting an exhibit featuring work from Natalie Oswald and Allison Agostinelli. Abeille Baking Company will provide delectable nibbles with French pastries and handmade truffles from Edie Rahlf, the "Sonsie Chocolatier." Treat your mama to indulgence. The cost is $9, free for children 12 and younger.

COOKING CLASS

Chef Tom Pantley of Toscanos (437 29th Street Northeast, Puyallup) will host a cooking course starring a fennel pulled pork, a springy penne pasta, chilled poached strawberry salmon and a rhubarb strawberry cobbler at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18. Le sigh, impress your guests with your newfound cooking skills. The course costs $60 and includes this four-course dinner, wine samples, recipes and instruction.
