WINE SOCIAL

Maxwell's Speakeasy (454 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) launches its new monthly Wine Social Thursday March 20. For $40, lovers of the vine may sip four wine varietals perfectly paired with four gourmet small plates concocted by Chef Hudson Slater. Participants are encouraged to mix and mingle with each other. The ticket price includes tax and gratuity. Reservations are required; call 253.683.4115.

BEER FLOATS

Wait, you've never heard of a beer float? Well, just think of it as an ice cream soda for more refined palates, subbing an ice cream friendly brew in for root beer. Seriously, it's an awesome combo. Pint Defiance (2049 Mildred Street, Tacoma) hosts a Beer Float Social 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 22. Ice Cream Social will be in house with some of its handmade creamy sweet treats. In fact, the Tacoma creamery will offer an exclusive flavor for this event, which will be paired with Speak Easy Black Hand Chocolate Milk Stout and Bridgeport Bear Hug Chocolate Cherry Stout.

WAREHOUSE DINNER CLUB

The team at Warehouse is known for coordinating some of the best musical lineups in the region featuring incredible talents performing in underground spaces, coffee shops, churches and even living rooms. At 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22 the inaugural Warehouse Dinner Club will be held featuring cuisine from Chef Dustin Joseph of Community Plate paired with craft cocktails concocted by Brian Johnson of Better Cocktails at Home, at Hewitt John Investment Council (700 Court A, Tacoma). In addition, Kevin Sur and Jake Hemming will provide the live soundtrack. Tickets cost $35 with cocktails available for purchase with liquor sale proceeds benefitting UP Food Bank.

EDIBLE GARDEN WORKSHOP

Pierce County and Pierce Conservation Districts partner to present an Edible Garden Workshop series. This series aims to teach wannabe green thumbs how to prepare soil, plant seeds and harvest food they've grown throughout the gardening season through presentations, lectures and hands on opportunities. OYSTER FESTIVAL

Anthony's celebrates West Coast oysters during its March Oyster Festival. Special menu items starring the oyster include an oyster burger, oyster tacos, pan fried oysters and shooters. Anthony's suggests you pair the oysters with "oyster wines." Throughout the month you oyster lovers may enjoy "Oyster Happy Hour" with $6 glasses of wine and daily oyster specials. Bonus: every Friday expect a hands-free oyster-slurping contest, with the final showdown March 28. Get in on the party at 8827 Harborview Dr. in Gig Harbor and 5910 N. Waterfront Dr. in Tacoma.
