WINE DINNER

Asado (2810 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) will be hosting what's sure to be an exquisite and elegant wine pairing dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept 5. Justin Wylie, winemaker and owner of Walla Wall winery VA Piano Vineyards will be pouring and talking vino. To pair with Asado dishes he will have a Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and a Sauvignon Blanc. This divine opportunity will be $75. Reservations are required at 253.272.7770.

WINE TASTING

Black Door Wine Company (3906 N. 34th Ave., Tacoma) will be hosting a wine tasting from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. Featured wines will include flavors from the Greek, Santorinian, Macedonian and Cretian regions. Sip and smell like you have travel plans. Bottles will be onsite to purchase and the Black Door team is delightfully knowledgeable when it comes to wine. Tickets are $5 to attend.

GARDEN TOUR

The Pierce County Community Garden Program has partnered with Duchess of Downtown Tours for its second annual community garden tour at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7. The free event takes green thumbs and sustainable lifestyle enthusiast on a tour of several community gardens in the South Sound to explore and discuss both the visual and most importantly the edible aspects of community garden projects. This may just ignite you to start growing your own veggies. Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the event. There is limited space on the bus; visit brownpapertickets.com.

FUNDRAISER

Food, wine and fundraising always make for a magnificent matrimony. If you feel the same, we suggest the Ms. Wheelchair America Fundraiser at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. Maxwell's Speakeasy (454 Saint Helens Ave., Tacoma) will host a divine dining opportunity in support of and accompanied by Ms. Wheelchair America, Jennifer Adams.
