THE NEW HUB

The Harmon Brewery is opening a second Hub restaurant, this time in Gig Harbor at the Tacoma Narrows Airport. It's using the Community Sourced Capital site to raise money to fulfill its dream. A contribution of $50 or more designates you as a "square holder" and is accessible in food and drink over the first two years of operation. It's more of an investment for your taste buds future. Furthermore the Hub will be hosting a big shebang in appreciation of all those who aided the funding of the new digs. COOKING CLASSES

The Asia Pacific Cultural Center (4851 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma) will be hosting a series of cooking classes highlighting the flavors of several different cultures. The most immediate featured will be Taste of Asia Pacific: Samoan 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, June 1. Class is only $25. Learn a new and exciting dish to bring to your own dinner table. THE STAR CLASSES

The STAR Center (4702 S. 19th St., Tacoma) hosts a variety of cooking courses, largely designed to promote healthy dietary choices and in lieu of the summer months approaching their next course will be Juicing and Smoothies For Optimal Health 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 3. Want to wow in that swimsuit this summer or just feel in overall increase of energy and sense of feel good? Wellness Coach Laurie Larson will guide the way with the class. LAKEWOOD FARMERS MARKET

Tuesday, June 4, the city of Lakewood launches its second annual farmers market season. Running each week through mid-September, the Lakewood Farmers Market will provide the community with locally sourced fresh produce, baked and canned goodies and handmade gifts at City Hall (6000 Main St., Lakewood). Market festivities begin at 11 a.m. and run until 3 p.m.
