208 Garfield is a hit with Pacific Lutheran University students for its value minded menu pricing and a hit in general for the tasty dishes (served small plate style), locally made beers and wine and organic products. Now offering brunch on the weekend, the value minded pricing at 208 Garfield continues; breakfast items are $4 or less.

Combined flavors of creamy white chocolate and sweet apricot make for one very popular freshly baked scone. The maple pecan scone runs a close second. Also enjoy muffins, tea bread and cookies.

Quiche - rich with Gruyere cheese, crème fraiche and rosemary ham - is a good alternative for those lacking a sweet tooth.

Made in hot pocket fashion out of what's essentially Italian flatbread, the breakfast piadini fills the role of on-the-go breakfast sandwich with dough folded over egg, peppery arugula, Tuscan cheese and optional prosciutto ham and then baked. This heartier choice pairs nicely with certified organic, high quality, loose-leaf tea served by the cup or pot.

Glasses of champagne and its fancy cousin, the mimosa, are $3. Stumptown coffee and espresso drinks are incredibly affordable; drip, macchiato, con panna, Americano, cappuccino for $2.50 and under. Herbal spritzers, sparkling water and Italian sodas complete the beverage selection.

Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
