FALL BREW FEST: Varsity Grill (1114 Broadway, Tacoma) will be serving samples of Deschutes Hop Trip, Sierra Nevada Brown Tumbler, Dick's Brown Ale, Leinkugel Octoberfest, New Belgium Hoptober Golden Ale, Widmer Drop Top Amber, and Red Hook Late Harvest Autumn Ale from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21. COCKTAIL PARTY: 1022 South (1022 South J, Tacoma) will throw a cocktail party to celebrate the debut of the new fall and winter menu at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22. Featuring more than 40 cocktails, the new menu showcases the lounge's exploration and innovation, respect for classic cocktail construction, excitement for apothecary techniques, and commitment to showcasing seasonal ingredients. Also look for the return of some of your favorite seasonal drinks. To celebrate, all menu cocktails will be specially priced at $6 the night of the party.

NEW WINE BAR: Pastiche (2715 Sixth Ave., Tacoma) is scheduled to open Monday, Nov. 1 next door to Beyond The Bridge Café. It will feature a dance floor with live music from the '30s and '40s.

WINE DINNER: El Gaucho (2119 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) hosts a four-course Owen Roe wine dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. The cost is $85 per person. Reserve your spot at 253.272.1510.
