NEW DOWNTOWN RESTAURANT

A new restaurants called The Office Bar and Grill has opened 813 Pacific Ave. in downtown Tacoma, the spot formerly occupied by Merende. The Office serves burgers, pizza, sandwiches, salads and such. It's open 11 a.m. to midnight Sundays-Thursdays and 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Fridays-Saturdays.

SWEET

Sugar, an old-fashioned candy store, has opened in Proctor District at 3901 N. 27th St.

EARLY BIRD DEAL

Salty's at Redondo offers three courses - soup or salad, entrée (salmon, crab mac and cheese, kabobs, chicken) and dessert - for $25 Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 4-6 p.m.

DEAL

Every Tuesday night Harmon Brewery & Eatery serves a 6-ounce sirloin steak or half pound of rib tips - both on a bed of fries - for $5. Check it at 1938 Pacific Ave. in downtown Tacoma.

TIGHTWAD TUESDAY

Every Tuesday Hell's Kitchen serves $2 tacos, $2 wells and $2 beers. Get on it at 928 Pacific Ave. in Tacoma.

COOKING CLASS

Primo Grill in Tacoma will host a cooking class using local farm goods Saturday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. The $65 fee includes recipes and instruction, lunch, a glass of wine, dessert, tax and gratuity. Reserve your spot at 253.383.7000.
