Hangover breakfast

Masa's breakfast is a tasty, nongreasy alternative for nursing a wicked case of the day-afters. According to eHow, Mexican food spices help calm the stomach. Sipping a cup of Stumptown coffee from embedded Satellite Coffee (yeah, dehydration bad - but whatever) amid Latin colors and sports broadcasts is oddly comforting.

Open for breakfast Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Masa serves a bevy of tasty options including: a burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs, crema, guacamole, pico de gallo, pepperjack cheese and taco meat; a breakfast burger with a ground chuck patty, over-medium egg, queso fundido, bacon, pico de gallo on a potato bun; huevos flatbread with queso fundido, scrambled eggs, house sausage, bacon, pico de gallo, and green onions on house made flatbread dough; breakfast quesadilla with scrambled eggs, house sausage, bacon, and green onions; huevos rancheros; and more.

Oh Mona

Formerly Opa Greek Cuisine, Mona Pizza and Pasta on Sixth Avenue quietly opened last week. The interior looks and feels much the same. Cozy fireplace, big sunny windows and comfy deep booths all remain. As for the menu, going from Greek to Italian American means pasta; 16 belly busters are offered now at Mona. For noodles, they offer tortellini, spaghetti, manicotti, fettuccine, lasagna, ravioli, or cannelloni.  Classic Italian potato dumplings, gnocchi, come straight up with marinara or rose sauce, or served with salty delicious prosciutto and fresh earthy basil with creamy tangy gorgonzola sauce.

There are low-carb options, too. Mona's eight salads are: spinach, Greek, Caesar, Cobb, shrimp, salmon, crispy chicken and mixed green.

Sadly there isn't one fresh vegetable appetizer listed, but barbeque ribs sound interesting - what will Italian ribs taste like?

The rest of the menu consists of stuffed and baked and golden calzones ($9.50), hot sandwiches ($9.25), traditional (pepperoni) and specialty pizzas (grilled chicken, prosciutto, pine nuts, goat cheese) and baklava, tiramisu and the like for dessert ($4.25). Pizza prices average $16.95. Alcohol isn't available; Delivery is.  - Jennifer Johnson
