SHE'S BACK

Angelika Irving, The Bavarian Corner owner and chef, returns to the Bayview School of Cooking to prepare one of her signature dishes: sauerbraten. In a classroom situation, she'll demonstrate how to cook the dish, as well as her homemade German spatzle and red cabbage Monday, March 1 at 6 p.m. The class, which includes complementary wine pairing, costs $50. FAT OF THE LAND

Langdon Cook, who left his senior book editor job at Amazon to live off the land, will discuss his book, Fat of the Land: Adventures of a 21st Century Forager, Thursday, March 4 at 7 p.m. inside the Garfield Book Company at Pacific Lutheran University. Configured around the seasons of the year, each chapter hones in on a particular food and ends with a recipe. If you want a taste, Cook has a blog.
