Over the summer, Graham-Kapowsin High School's Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps staff held meetings and worked vigorously to prepare for the 2010-2011 school year.

From planning different upcoming events to settling into their new positions, cadets have had a very busy schedule. In addition to selling coupon books individually, cadets also hosted coupon book sales at Safeway, Walmart and the South Hill Mall to promote their program and earn money for the booster club.

They have recently just begun this year's after school teams - Raider Team and Armed and Unarmed Drill Team. Raider Team (otherwise known as our Physical Fitness Team) meets every Tuesday after school to work out and stay in shape, while the Drill Teams meet every Wednesday and Thursday to get ready for drill meets.

Some exciting events that are coming up for the Eagle Battalion is a unit inspection, which the team is currently preparing for. It is being held Nov. 5, and the unit will be graded its organization and effectiveness as a battalion.

In addition, cadets look forward to marching in Auburn's annual Veteran's Day Parade and planning their own GKHS Veteran's Day Assembly, which is held Nov. 8. The unit is working and planning very diligently for these two events.
