A robust community partner program that has swelled to more than 130 members is one of the reasons the Air Force Association's McChord Field chapter is able to do so many great things.

And McChord chapter leadership members want to make sure the community partners that put forth effort that goes above and beyond are recognized.

Coinforce.com owners Jordan and Donna Haines were given the chapter's inaugural "Above and Beyond" award Tuesday afternoon at the chapter's monthly meeting.

"(We) have some community partners that are doing this and that and are involved in several things at one time," AFA chapter president Tommy Carson said. "Shouldn't you recognize somebody that does that? Coinforce.com is involved in a ton of things, and we wouldn't be half the chapter we are without them and a few others that we're going to be recognizing in a few months."

Both Air Force veterans who spent time stationed at McChord, the husband and wife team at the core of Coinforce.com have been AFA community members for the last six years.

"We're humbled to be the first one recognized with an award as a community partner," Jordan Haines said. "We enjoy being part of the chapter because we still get to be around the troops and be part of what's going on out there at McChord Field. There are a lot of good things happening."

Between sponsoring Pilot for a Day and the many other scholarship programs, Jordan said he enjoys giving back to the base and local community.

"We all benefit in this community from the base being here," he said. "If you're a business and you do business with the military, it should be an automatic thing to join AFA, AUSA or any other service organization."
