Every few years, military families make a permanent change of station move.  

Usually their new destination is a place where they have never been before, and where they know no one. 

One way to get in the loop is to join a local women's club.  Women's clubs offer members an opportunity to give back to the community while making new friends.  

There are a variety of local clubs designed to meet the needs of just about any women.  There are clubs for women with children and without, women who want to volunteer daily, or just a time or two a month.  There are clubs that meet in homes and clubs that meet at a business headquarters.

Capital City Newcomers
Olympia

This club comprises a group of women who provide newcomers an opportunity to meet women with similar interests.  The club offers a variety of activities including: bridge, book clubs, lunches, coffees, tours, walking and Bunco.  This group also performs charitable work throughout the year.

Mom's Club of Puyallup

This is a social support group for stay-at-home moms.  Club members are offered the opportunity to participate in monthly activities during the day for children and mothers, playgroups, a Mom's Night Out, and community service projects.

McChord Officer Spouses Club

The McChord OSC is open to all spouses and widows of active, reserve, National Guard, retired officers, and warrant officers assigned to McChord.  The club offers monthly social activities with the opportunity to build personal relationship and quarterly community service projects that promote philanthropy, as well as ongoing activities.

McChord Enlisted Wives Club

This club offers companionship, assistance, and support to spouses of active duty, reserve, and retired military families of McChord Air Force Base. We also welcome members from dual-military families.  The club members hold an annual fundraiser's to support various needs and causes around the base.  One-hundred percent of all fundraising monies go directly back into the McChord Community through educational seminars, deployed family dinners, informational lectures, McChord Community Events as well as fellowship events such as craft nights, ladies luncheons, children's activities and family support.

Junior Women's Club of Lakewood

This club is a philanthropic organization that sponsors a major fundraiser each year with proceeds going to predetermined organizations in Lakewood. Throughout the year, this club offers members opportunities such as assisting with annual social service projects, a Christmas Food Basket project, and serving as a hostess during the Lakewood Arts Festival.
