Harmony-drenched country-folk trio The Good Lovelies are Toronto's finest export since Sarah Harmer. This all-female group is indeed good and lovely, having nailed a formula of old-fashioned dresses, buoyant ditties, spot-on three-part harmonies and onstage repartee. What started off as a one-off singing Christmas music in 2006 has turned into a delightful long-term collaboration, which has produced two Juno Award nominations and one win for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Group. Known for their infectious bluegrass-swing sound, with just a pinch of sass, Sue Passmore, Kerri Ough and Caroline Brooks bring their textbook three-part harmonies, constant instrument swapping and witty stage banter to the Washington Center.
