The duo of Francisco y Madero is comprised of two dudes who met through MySpace and collaborated from hundreds of miles apart - Jesse Sylvester in San Francisco and Carlos Pesina in Guadalajara, Mexico. Despite the piecemeal approach they had to forming their band, their music resonates with a form and cohesion that belies the way Francisco y Madero came to be. In a matter similar to TV Girl, who recently toured through these parts, they combine vintage samples and beats with live vocals. Francisco y Madero, though, introduce a hazy lounge-act vibe into the proceedings, coming up with a sound that they've dubbed "sampledelia." On their tour, they've brought with them fellow Guadalajara-based psych rockers Dorotheo. This show is sure to be a mind-altering affair, so you best come prepared.
