With all the cousins and neighborhood chums flocking to T-town for the holiday, Thanksgiving eve is one of the best nights for hangin' at your favorite pub for a brew or six. Parkway, Harmon, Doyle's, Brotherhood and the Top of Tacoma are just a few hot spots that will involved many, and sometimes awkward, hugs.

For those who aren't big mashed couch potatoes the day after, join the 18th annual Norpoint Turkey Trot, the oldest and largest turkey trot in Tacoma - a 5K or 2-milerun or kids' trot. Kicking off at 9 a.m., athletic types will trot through Northwest Tacoma with mountain and Puget Sound views for participants not fixated on their lactate threshold. All participants are eligible for random prizes given out during the awards ceremony. There will be a costume contest for the best turkey costumes.
