That big Earth Day hangover has to be about gone by now, right? Blisters on your hands from your 24-hour tree planting and can-crushing marathon almost healed? Good. Because this weekend the Nisqually Wild & Scenic Film Festival hits Yelm High School with a wheelbarrow full of love for Mother Earth, including Eagle Among the Swarn, The Majestic Bag, Oktapodi (pictured), Marion Stoddart: The Work of 1000 and many others.
According to hype, "The mission of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival is to inspire people and unite communities to heal the earth. We show environmental and adventure films that illustrate the Earth's beauty, the challenges facing our planet, and the work communities are doing to protect the environment. Through these films, Wild & Scenic both informs people about the state of the world and inspires them to take action."
By the time this month is over you will learn to love nature. Oh, and it's being held in conjunction with the Nisqually Home, Garden and Trade Show, and it's free, so that's (heh, heh) two different types of green you'll be saving this weekend.
YELM HIGH SCHOOL, SATURDAY, APRIL 28-SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 11 A.M. TO 3 P.M., FREE, 1315 W. YELM AVE., YELM, NISQUALLYRIVER.ORG/FILMFESTIVAL

Truly humorous tongue-in-cheek irreverence, love it! Caring for people and the planet is serious business and fun and rewarding. Hope you made it to the W & S Festival!
