Carwein Auditorium

This event was originally scheduled for January, but as it turns out transportation during snowmaggedon was practically impossible - so it was canceled and rescheduled for Thursday. In cooperation with Tacoma's Downtown on the Go organization (which promotes environmentally-sound transportation alternatives that don't include you idling all alone in your Dodge Ram), Coalition for Active Transportation and the Transportation Choices Coalition, the University of Washington Tacoma will host a public health and transportation forum from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the Carwein Auditorium. The forum will be moderated by Victor Colman, director of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition, and panelists will include Washington State Representative Andy Billig, urban planner Julia Walton and Tacoma Pierce County Health Department Prevention Program Coordinator Kirsten Frandsen. According to hype, since being rescheduled the forum has "even more relevance now that House Bill 2370, including health in the state transportation system policy goals, has gained momentum in Olympia."
