Poetry isn't for the weak. If an artist is looking for adulation and widespread accolade, poetry will probably never deliver. Poetry is thankless - at least when judging thanks by the usual response of mainstream America. That said, Collier Nogues is a poet worthy of your attention, even if you rarely give poetry the attention it deserves. Having had her poetry featured in the Spring 2010 issue of Pleiades, and with work appearing or forthcoming in Jubilat, The Massachusetts Review, Blackbird, and The Pinch, Nogues will read from her debut collection, On the Other Side, Blue, Saturday at Orca Books in Olympia.
