Opened in 1929, Gilchrist’s inventory includes about 160 new, and 100 used vehicles, Jim Kemp, the general sales manager said.  “What distinguishes us is our sales team,” Kemp said.  “Our sales staff are low pressure.  They are right up front with everybody.”

Lakewood Ford has an inventory of about 150 vehicles.   There are three sites all within a 10 miles radius of McChord Air Force Base, and Fort Lewis Army Base.   Throughout the year, the dealership sponsors programs for military.  For back to school, the dealership hosts a back pack day, during which about 1000 backpacks are distributed to children who have a parent in the military, Boyd Hamilton, the new car sales manager said. “We try to do whatever we can to take care of the military families while military service members are deployed,” Hamilton said.  “We have military customers, but a lot of what we do here is behind the scenes.”
