SUMMER LUNCH SERIES

Food and entertainment on a large slab of concrete, every Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., through Sept. 18 at 17th and Commerce in Tacoma.

COOKING DEMONSTRATION

Garfield Book Company hosts “Julia! A Cooking Celebration,” Aug. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at 405 Garfield St. in Tacoma. The class is free.

WEEKEND FOOD WORKSHOP

Khassa Selassie teaches a class on “Food as Medicine: Raw Living Foods for Immune Deficiency Diseases” Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Marlene’s Market & Deli, 2565 S. Gateway Center Pl. In Federal Way. The class costs $25. Reserve your spot at 253.839.0933.

BREWERS AND WINEMAKERS

The Puyallup Fair welcomes amateur brewers and winemakers to compete and showcase their own home brews and creations for a chance to win prizes. Winning entries will be on display for the duration of the Fair, Sept. 11-27 in the west side of the Americraft ShowPlex.  Entries may be submitted on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. only, and will be received inside the grounds through the Red Gate area on 9th Ave. SW. RIB NIGHT

The Hub offers one pound of barbecue baby back pork ribs served with baked beans, corn on the cob and mini cornbread for $11.95 every Tuesday.

LOBSTER SUMMER

The Keg Steakhouse & Bar’s summer lobster dishes will end Aug. 23.
