Rooted in elements of musical psychedelia, a movement slowly reemerging, Vampire Hands brings to listeners their second full-length release, Me & U Cherry Red, coupled with a re-release of their first EP, Cruz It’s a Beach Funeral.  Made up of Minnesotans Alex on drums, Chris B. on bass, Chris R. on guitar, and Colin on drums and synth, the band delivers the community an explosive live performance and now a wonderfully untamed collection of tracks.

The album of Minneapolis based Vampire Hands illuminates the intoxicating magnetism of rhythm produced by repetitive percussion and the invigorating use of synths.  The album opens with “Statuette” immediately grasping the listener into the hallucinatory world Vampire Hands generates with their mesmerizing instrumentals coupled with the delicately haunting vocals.

Immediately following emerges “No Fun” and “Heat Fire,” tracks that skillfully exhibit Vampire Hands’ successful experimentation with percussion.  The enchanting rhythms are a result of Vampire Hands’ inventive scheme to make music with not one, but two percussionists.  Following the rhythmic gems, within minutes blasts the track “Friendship RD” using quicker, choppier drums and shakers ultimately hypnotizing listeners into movement.  The collection of tracks closes with the lingering “Me & U Cherry Red,” but then arrives the re-release of Cuz It’s a Beach Funeral.

In their album Me & U Cherry Red/ Cuz It’s a Beach Funeral Vampire Hands distinguish themselves by creating an innovative musical hybrid combining entrancing elements of psychcadelic experimentation that wade in garage-y waters, leaving the listener with a captivating musical product worthy of play everywhere.
