VITALY PALEY

The 2005 recipient of the Best Chef Northwest Award from the James Beard Foundation and co-owner of the awesome Paley’s Place in Portland, Vitaly Paley will share his favorite dishes Friday, March 20 at the Bayview School of Cooking in Olympia. Chef William Mueller and his wife, Shannon, host another reservation-only chef’s dinner March 22 at their Babblin’ Babs Bistro in Tacoma. For their A Night in Ireland dinner they will serve Wild King on Irish bread, Irish Onion Stout soup, duet of beets spinach salad, Shamrock mint mist, Gaelic steak with Irish Whiskey and end with a Guinness Stout float. The Lone Star Kitchen in Lacey has been sold, and its new owners —including Terry Suzuki of Jazzbones — are converting it into the Red Bike Dueling Piano Bar & Restaurant. Keep an eye open at 4441 Pacific Ave. S.E. for the music to start sometime in April.
