Named after the way she referred to her daughter, Lisa Sampson’s jewelry design business Glorious Girl has been offering elegant and sophisticated handmade designs with emphasis on keeping the jewelry style up-to-date with current fashion trends for almost nine years. In addition to juggling her jewelry business, working at Costco for nearly 15 years and taking care of her husband of 19 years and their two kids, Fircrest native Sampson still finds time to be involved with art shows benefiting local charities such as Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation and Tacoma Community House Youth Program.

Sampson works with a wide variety of hand selected materials picked up at gem shows and interesting pieces from Sixth Avenue’s Bead Factory, such as semiprecious stones, freshwater pearls, Austrian Swarovski crystals, cubic zirconia, sterling silver, and precious metal clay. A self-professed perfectionist, Sampson goes through a lengthy design process so each Glorious Girl piece is just right. “Precious Metal Clay allows me to make my own silver pieces, and when fired in a kiln, becomes .999 fine silver,” she says.

Inspired by vibrancy and color depth, Sampson’s favorite pieces to create are necklaces, bracelets and earrings. “I’m intrigued by how much colors truly do affect our moods.”

From simple styles to multitiered chandelier earrings, only the highest quality 49-strand stainless steel cable is used in all jewelry designs.

Glorious Girl jewelry can be purchased at Good Karma in Fircrest. One-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces along with keepsake jewelry also are available at www.gloriousgirl.com.
