Ever have one of those days where your brain simply doesn't cooperate with the rest of your body? Well, me too. In fact, something happened on the way to The Forum in downtown Tacoma a few weeks ago. After immersing myself in the historic Olympus Hotel, enjoying a few drinks and a really great meal ... I then made the worst faux pas of all and named the wrong restaurant in my review. So, first I apologize to both The Forum and to anyone else that I thoroughly confused, and second, let me walk you through some of the best drinks, burgers and sandwiches in Tacoma.

Begin your evening with one of the many infused cocktails offered from the bar. The Forum takes local ingredients and infuses them into selected liquors to create such wonderful flavor combinations as pineapple upside-down cake, the bee's knees, or even an original mai tai.  And if spirits isn't your thing, then don't worry, there is always a rotation of local beer on tap.

The appetizer selection has your favorite wings, rings and nachos, but also a few items that you don't find on every other bar menu.  Choices such as spicy shrimp with a sweet orange dipping sauce or fried raviolis with marinara for dipping, are not to be missed.  My favorite, however, are the giant mac ‘n cheese balls which are creamy and crispy at the same time, and paired with a creamy salsa dipping sauce.

Once you bite into the Juicy Lucy, you'll understand why it is so popular here.  Settled between two brioche buns, it is a six ounce burger stuffed with American cheese, and then topped with pickles and fresh caramelized onions.  Have a napkin nearby as it's not called the Juicy Lucy for no reason.

The BLT and E is a great twist on an old favorite. However, the BLT and E is a warm sandwich that makes bacon and egg the star of the meal with roasted tomatoes and lettuce just along to prove that it actually can get better.

I love pot roast, and I love sandwiches.  The Forum has combined the two into one amazing sandwich with the pot roast accented with horseradish, cheese and caramelized onions (which The Forum clearly has mastered).  This is the perfect sandwich to get with a side of soup for dipping. On the day I was there, tomato was the daily soup, and a great addition to an already solid sandwich.

And finally, if you're looking for a spot to catch the game, The Forum is set up with TVs in nearly every corner, so it will not matter where you sit, you will have plenty of fans to cheer with.  Come, eat, drink, cheer and enjoy ... and don't forget the name.
