Victoria Prince's dream took shape in a paradise setting. She was born on the Big Island of Hawaii and recalled playing the ukulele and dancing the hula as a little girl.

"Music was always a big part of my life," said Prince, 22. "I picked up the guitar when I was 15 and have been playing ever since."

When she was a teenager, her family moved to southern Oregon, and Prince enrolled at the University of Oregon. Then, when she was home one summer, she wound up at a barbeque at her future husband's grandparents' house.

"We have a lot of mutual friends, coming from such a small town, but because he is four years older than me, we didn't get the chance to meet until the summer of 2008," she admitted. "I caught his eye while I was jamming on my guitar for all of our friends. Before I knew it, a week later I was on a plane to Ft. Bragg, where we spent 10 more days together before he was deployed to Afghanistan."

When he returned in 2009, he proposed within just a few hours of being home on American soil. Two years ago, she got to marry her prince, Sgt. 1st Class Matthew Britt, who is now part of 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

"I do play shows around the greater Tacoma and Seattle areas whenever I can," said the singer-songwriter. Her time is precious though, since, in addition to being an Army wife, a gifted performer and an occasional, aspiring model, Prince also attends the Art Institute of Seattle for Music.

"My husband is the most supportive; it's awesome," she said. "He also inspires a lot of what I write and sing.

"My single ‘Even When You're Gone' is a portrayal of the difficulties of enduring a long deployment," Prince said. "I wrote it for my husband while he was deployed. I recorded it in the studio and sent it to him so that he could listen to it on his iPod to help him relax while he was out on long missions in the middle of the desert."

Prince was recently signed to the Seattle-based Fidelity Management Group, which will serve as her modeling agency and music management company. She is currently in the midst of recording her first album, which is tentatively set to drop at the start of 2013. She hinted that an EP release is also possible before then, but in the meantime, her debut single, ‘Even When You're Gone' is available for download on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/even-when-youre-gone/id345160101?i=345160172&uo).
