Three Drinks: Score a pint in Puyallup

Twisted Kilt, Puyallup's home base for soccer fans and all things Irish, will blossom from infancy into toddlerhood come June 2012 when it celebrates its very first birthday.  Before this already famous Irish pub had its big birthday bash, I was insistent on discovering what all the Puyallup bar hype was about.

As owner Bryan Purdy greeted me with a smile, I couldn't help but revel in the fact that the joint was packed at lunchtime and I was one of only two women in attendance.  Yippee for me!

I ordered TK's famous Reuben and a side of Pub Chips to assist with what binge drinking was about to occur.  What I didn't expect was for this damn sandwich on locally made bread to be so incredibly amazing.  Hands down, the best Reuben I've ever had in my life.

Go.  Now.  Eat a Twisted Kilt Reuben.  In the meantime, I'll do my usual Three Drink Minimum.

First Drink: Bartender's Choice - Angry Whore

Angry Orchard Cider topped with a shot of Fireball whiskey ... dangerously, dangerously delicious.  Cripes it was amazing.  I could drink one every morning for breakfast if only my parole officer would stop giving me 10 a.m. breathalyzers.

Purdy laughed as he told me about their weekend drink special called the "Pissed Off Pimp" which includes Angry Orchard Cider, Fireball whiskey and a shot of Jaegermeister.  F'ing brilliant!

Second Drink: Most popular within the last hour - The Sounder

Consisting of Red Bull, Blue Curacao and some sort of Pucker liquor, The Sounder is always the most popular during Seattle Sounders games.  For a decent lunchtime buzz with a side of afternoon pep, this drink worked for me.

After all, it was only noon, so I needed the rest of the day to finish my columns.

Third Drink: My choice - Stella Artois

Light and easy.  I couldn't handle anything else, as the first two drinks had done me in.  I suppose it didn't help that I showed up for lunch already hung over.  It's like you never stopped drinking.  Ouch.
