The 29th annual Skagit Valley tulip festival runs this year from April 1-30, in Skagit Valley. And, though you might have the urge to "tip-toe through the tulips," the driving tour allows you to view millions of tulips as they burst into bloom and decorate the area.

Visitors can also experience a flowering river of tulips close-up in the display garden, which has 140 varieties, unique floral designs, and brilliant color combinations. You can also purchase t-shirts, mugs, magnets and posters at the festival shop.

Visit the downtown Mount Vernon street fair and enjoy its famous Kiwanis salmon barbecue, along with art shows and the tulip town children's art table.

So grab your camera, head to the festival, and welcome spring with your senses by feasting your eyes on the multitudinous splendor of color, that the valley has to offer this April.
