Joining me last weekend was Kris Blondin, Bandito Betty, Jennifer Johnson and Kate Swarner.  I found it my personal obligation to release these friends and fellow scribes from all Weekly Volcano duties for one sunny weekend, and whisk them away for a little girl time in Westport at what has lovingly been dubbed "DeRosa Manor Part Deux."

My apologies to Matt Driscoll, Joe Izenman, and any other male Weekly Volcano staff; unfortunately your male genitalia disqualified you from any girl's weekend shenanigans in Westport. And shenanigans were running a-plenty, that's for sure.

As with any typical Sunday in August, Interstate 5 North was backed up with weekend travelers from Nisqually to the T-Dome as we began our journey home from a marvelous time at the beach - hence the need to stop and get a drink at the Nisqually Bar & Grill.  Three, perhaps.  But don't worry, a designated driver was in effect, and no lives were compromised in this week's edition of Three Drink Minimum.

Drink one: Lemonade Iced Tea (bartender's Choice) - This was a Sweet Carolina vodka-spiked Arnold Palmer at its best.  When the temperature rises to a balmy 95 degrees, begging for one of these fine drinks wouldn't be completely out of line.  The only problem was the size of the glass at Nisqually Bar & Grill - too small.  Three gulps weren't nearly enough to quench my girly thirst.

Drink two: Mike's Mango Punch (most popular drink within last hour) - For hardcore alcoholics, a simple Mike's Hard Lemonade is not enough.  I've seen even the manliest of these pseudo-wine cooler drinkers shove an extra shot of vodka in the bottle to take it up a notch.  Looking around at the biker demographic on this Sunday, I was a little shocked to see a vodka-spiked Mike's Mango Punch as the most popular. But who am I to judge?  I had recently concluded a weekend hanging out with women who regularly spike their drinks with pickle juice, so nothing was news to me at this point.

Drink three: Pabst Blue Ribbon (my choice) - I had to do it.   A cold PBR right from the tap was just what I needed to survive the trip through Nisqually.  Besides, someone had to show the bikers what a REAL drink was. Enough of this pansy mango shit.
