A post-wide bus route, developed by a Pierce Transit and Fort Lewis partnership, aims at improving sustainability efforts, decreasing on-post traffic and making commuting easier for Soldiers, families and employees.

The Fort Lewis 207-sequence routes run on weekdays and cost 75 cents for a single ride, a dollar less than the regular price, or $27 for a monthly pass, $36 off the regular price.

Different routes were designed to take community members to popular areas on Fort Lewis including the main post's Burger King, Post Exchange, Commissary, Stone Education Center and Soldiers Field House. A DuPont Park & Ride lot gives Soldiers and Fort Lewis employees the option of leaving their cars in a parking lot off post and taking the bus service into work. This route, called 207G or "Madigan Hospital to Depot," will run from 6 a.m. until 7:25 p.m. Other main stops on the route are the commissary on Nevada Avenue, Madigan Hospital and Depot Liggett Avenue.

Route 207B, called "Madigan Hospital to Railroad Ave. and Stryker Ave.," runs from 8:30 a.m. until 3:22 p.m. with two stops: Madigan Hospital and Cemetery Road & 22nd Street.

The final route, 207P, called "Airfield-Commissary Loop," stops at 3rd Division Drive & Bennett Avenue, Cemetery Road & 22nd Street and the commissary on Nevada Avenue.

Routes 207G and 207B connect at Madigan Hospital with Route 206, which travels to the Lakewood Transit Center in the Lakewood Towne Center. From there, travelers can connect to numerous routes including Downtown Tacoma, the Tacoma Mall, University Place and even Sea-Tac Airport.
