Hip-hop and community have always been tied together and Lacey’s Black Sam Entertainment in association with Du 4 Self Records continues the tradition with a benefit this Saturday to raise proceeds for the Thurston County Food Bank in Olympia.

“I just wanted to do something to help people,” says Black Sam.

With the economy impacting peoples’ ability to buy food, the gesture is well received by the Olympia community.

Black Sam has put together a big lineup featuring Jughead Jones, Basko Sauce’alini, Dukk, Illizm & Wikkedsixx, J-Mar Da Sik and Zulu Nation favorite, DJ Turtledove.

The show will be held at the China Clipper in downtown Olympia. The cover is $5 cover — ladies free until 11 p.m.  Guests are given a $1 off of the cover price for each canned food item brought and half of all proceeds will be donated directly to the Thurston County Food Bank.  Check it out. …
