THE GREAT BUCK HOWARD: John Malkovich plays a magician and psychic who guested on Johnny Carson 61 times, but is now reduced to playing small theaters in smaller cities. Colin Hanks is the new kid who signs on as his road manager, and gets an education in showbiz and the Greatness of Buck Howard. Funny, observant, a little sad, and with a Malkovich performance of fascinating inscrutability. (PG) Three and a half stars. — Roger Ebert

THE WORLD’S FASTEST INDIAN: The 2005 film about New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle — a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record in 1967 — is the centerpiece of this fundraiser.  All proceeds benefit the Altrusa Scholarship Fund. (PG-13) – BW
