Jake’s Bar and Bistro in Steilacoom hosts jazz every Saturday night beginning Jan. 5.

Award winning saxophonist Jim Pribbenow, also known as King Greasy, will be the first to hit Jake’s stage. Joining Pribbenow will be pianist Craig Hoyer.

Jake’s, formerly Jake Hathcock’s tiny Steilacoom Wine and Brew that shut down, renamed and moved up the street to its new location at 215 Wilkes St., offers more than 40 Northwest micros and European beers on tap.

I climbed Jake’s stairs on its opening night Friday, Dec. 21. I hope they have the plywood seats covered and the missing beers back on its list before Saturday.

The joint has promise.

Nibbles

Puerto Vallarta Restaurant has opened at 1400 Galaxy Dr. N.E. in Lacey. I hope they offer those Winter Homemade Hot Buttered Rums they serve at their Yelm location.

The Buttered Biscuit moved from Buckley to downtown Sumner at 1014 North St. They serve a worthy breakfast.
