Trombonist Randy Oxford is up to it again. In conjunction with the Mineral Lake Event Center, he and his band will be presenting the Mt. Rainer Country Music Festival at the Loggers Jubilee outdoor arena.
Oxford has brought in an impressive lineup for this summer blast including Nashville recording artist Jonathan Harris. The singer/songwriter with the extra twangy voice has been performing in and around the Northwest for 10 years and has warmed the stage for such legends as Charlie Daniels and Merle Haggard. His style varies from hillbilly stomp to heartbreaking ballads.
The Shelli Parker band is another top-notch act slotted to play the festival. Blending classic and Southern rock with top 40 country favorites, this band has something for everyone.
8 Second Ride is dubbed the NW best dance country band, and after they strike the first note, you’ll know why.
The Protektors are going to provide the change of pace at the event playing choice rock and roll covers from the ’60s through the ’80s.
Finally, with 100.7 The Wolf Martina McBride singer contest winner Heather Rayburn, Oxford and company will transform into a country band called Randy Oxford’s Country Review.
[Loggers Jubilee, Saturday, July 7, 1 to 10 p.m., $20 advance, $25 at the gate, 401 Knittle Way, Morton, 360.492.5039]
