CHEF'S DINNER

The Social Bar and Grill (1715 Dock Street, Tacoma) will host a chef's dinner Thursday, March 19 starring hops from Harmon Brewing perfectly paired with four courses concocted by Chef Tram. Start it off with Irish Sausages and Portobello Mushrooms paired with Harmon Eagle Point Oatmeal Stout and finish it with a Bailey's Cream Custard and Harmon's Mocha Porter. MEATOUT

March 20, Mayor Marilyn Strickland is issuing a proclamation urging citizens of Tacoma to put a pause on their carnivorous ways and skip the meat. A full day of going meatless, being referred to as a "Meatout," could spare the lives of more than 100,000 animals, preserve 30 million square feet of rainforest and save 750 gallons of water. Take the challenge.

WHISKERS WINE AND DINE

Dine for a good cause at the annual Whiskers Wine and Dine, Saturday March 21.  Held at Clover Park Technical College's McGavick Conference Center (4500 Steilacoom Blvd, Lakewood), festivities will include silent and live auctions, wine games, raffles and a dessert dash with proceeds going to help make spay and neuter services affordable. RIBEYE STEAK NIGHT

Hey carnivores! Wednesday nights are Ribeye Steak Night at the Stonegate Restaurant and Bar (5419 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma). For $9.95, you'll receive 10 ounces of beefy goodness served with a baked potato, salad and roll.
